It is time for each one of us to weigh in.
It is time for each one of us to weigh in.
You can not get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of a difference you want to make.
Dr. Jane Goodall, Primatologist and Anthropologist
For more than 30 years scientists and have been warning about climate change. Governments have been slow to respond, and still the clock is ticking. Canada’s emissions continue to rise, primarily due to our exploration, development and extraction of fossil fuels.
Globally, the 2015 Paris Accord targets are not being met by most countries. Canada is among them. Now it is up to all of us to engage, take personal action and support our governments to do what needs to be done.
GBCAN builds engagement through public and community activities and working with our local municipalities.
We know that the more people understand the risks to our beautiful communities the more likely they are to take action at home, and, the more likely are our municipalities to work to reduce the risk of harm right here. When citizens’ groups and municipalities work together they have a better chance of protecting families and the green spaces in our beautiful communities.
